First stop is Alkmaar’s cheese market. See how cheese is sold here according to the ancient traditions. The cheese is weighed, carried and traded in the same way it used to be in the past. A nostalgic spectacle on the beautiful Waagplein that is an absolute must-see attraction.

The next visit will be Zaanse Schans, a neighborhood in the Dutch town of Zaandam, near Amsterdam. Historic windmills and distinctive green wooden houses were relocated here to recreate the look of an 18th/19th-century village.

The final destination is Volendam, a Dutch town on the Markermeer Lake, northeast of Amsterdam. It’s known for its colorful wooden houses and the old fishing boats in its harbor, which is lined with seafood vendors.
