Register Now!This will be a beginner’s journey into the beautiful world of malas. A mala is a garland of beads used to together with a mantra, typically composed of 108 beads, and worn around the neck or wrist. Japa malas are ancient tools which have been used for 5000 years to help and support the mind during meditation. When you first string your new mala, it is simply a string of beads. We will clean and prepare the mala with a personal intention. This practice will make it ready for use as a meditative tool.
WORKSHOP INCLUDES: ~ All materials and supplies for creation of your mala. ~ Group instruction on how to string the mala, using the overhand knot. ~ Discussion of Japa Mala, its origins, and how to use the mala. ~ Guided practice to prepare your mala for use in daily practice.
Bring a mat, water bottle, and a face covering to enter facility. Once on the mat, the face covering may be removed.
